The neighborhood park. Less than a 1-minute walk from our house, Ha & I, and sometimes our neighbors Melanie & Gabby, hit it at least 3-4 times a week...
Last week, Ha and I hosted playgroup again. Loads of fun! Ha really loves sharing her toys and entertaining guests--especially babies. She took a real interested in Beverly (pictured below) and is always trying to feed her or rock her in her carseat, lol. However, she has started to have minor jealously flare-ups when I hold Bev. But just so long as she's getting held, too, it's not a problem. On that note, we were babysitting Brieannah this weekend, who absolutely loved hitting Martin with Ha's inflatable sword. Well, Ha wasn't too into the sword action, although she did take a couple swings, but she was VERY into the Daddy-attention action. While Brie was playing, Ha would sit in front of Martin and wave and say "Hi!" nonstop (in a playful, not a frustrated, manner). Too cute!Well, here are the playgroup pix:

This week, for our bonus Thursday playgroup, we went to Kurashiki Dam with my friends Sam & Becky, and Becky's kids Nanathaniel (2 years) and Sebastian (2 months). It was a blast! And thanks to Sam, we got some great pictures!! Ha was a little scared at first because she had never played so near a waterfall before (even a mini one), but she soon warmed right up to it. She was especially interested in the surprisingly non-slimy algae. The dam was GORGEOUS and so serene. We hope to go picnicking there with Martin soon. 'Tunia would love it too. The water is cool enough to be refreshing, but shallow enough for her not to have to expend precious energy swimming. I cannot wait for her quarantine to be up!The mini waterfalls...

Last weekend we also went to Chula-U Bathhouse. Only one other person signed up for the tour, so it got canceled and we had to go ourselves. It was very nice, but quite unlike Misawa. The details (which include trips to the nude bathing areas) are probably a bit TMI for some of you, so it will suffice to say that it was nice ambiance, but more rowdy than relaxing, and we were all sick the next day! I don't think they have the same chlorination/anti-germ, etc. standards here as in the US, and the "ring" around the inner lip of the outdoor heated pool was proof enough of that (unfortunately we didn't notice it until after we'd been swimming!).This weekend we took the base tour to Churaumi Aquarium, which has the 2nd largest tank in the world (3 whale sharks, manta rays, sharks, and more were all swimming peacefully there). Martin said the largest tank in the world is at NASA. Churaumi and Ocean Expo Park were amazing and we took a whole memory card worth of pix & flix, so we will be posting them later. Also, we have some videos that go w/this blog that I will upload later in the week. Enjoy!
This week is looking to be super-busy for Martin. He will be working 5:30am-5:30pm during a basewide exercise. So please keep him in your prayers! He is also taking 2 very hard math classes, so we are trying to make sure he gets enough rest!!
