Trips to the parks

Over the past week and a half, Ha and I trekked up to Nago City for an afternoon of fun with Rie-san, Eimi-chan, and Eimi's grandmother. We hit Pineapple Park Winery (and rode the tram cars for the first time--which Ha loved!) and also neighboring Okinawa Fruits Land, where we enjoyed birds, butterflies, fruits galore, and a petting zoo. Ha was so funny at the sample area in Pineapple Park. She loved all of the food--but if you presented her with a new sample while she was chewing something else, she would spit it out on the spot to make room for the new treat, lol!

Ha, enjoying the ride! A field ripe with pineapples... There is also a lovely shell museum at the winery. I thought these shells in particular, were very beautiful. They look like they are dyed, but the aren't. According to Rie, they hail from the Philippines.

Hana is a sucker for water features! Especially ones that showcase rocks!! She loved moving the stones from one container to another. A friendly toucan. Unfortunately, a bit of Fruits Land was closed for rennovations when we went. Last time Ha was able to feed fresh nectar to the free-flying birds, but no such luck this time around. Still had a blast, though!
I don't think March is butterfly season here, either. Last time we went to the butterfly house, there were literally close to a hundred beautiful tree nymphs fluttering around. This time there were only three (although we did get to see one emerge from its cocoon!!). Ha loved feeding the baby goats!

Then, this past Monday, we picnicked at Sayori Treehouse Park--and a neighboring super-fun rollerslide park with Jamie, Valerie, and their kiddos. Super fun!! I love taking Ha on picnics!! Especially now that we have our new Tupperware picnic set, lol!Here, Ha enjoys one of her favorite sandwiches--PB & strawberry cream cheese on honey whole grain white...no crusts!!
